About M&D
Our company namesakes, the Mopane tree (Colophospermum mopane) and Dugong (Dugong dugon) are predominant species within the southern Inhambane Basin, symbolizing our expertise in both land and marine ecosystems. This dual representation reflects our commitment to provision of interlinked, multidisciplinary biodiversity conservation, ecological management and sustainable environmental services. It also mirrors our complimentary combination of local and national expertise, cultural and environmental understanding, with our global experience and vision. Our collective experience spans almost three decades and M&D are proud to offer services in English, Portuguese Xitsuwa and Xangana.
M&D's rich blend of local, national and global experience, spanning nearly three decades, guides our mission to provide holistic environmental solutions for our clients and our planet.
Our Expertise
M&D’s team brings extensive expertise in ecological impact assessments, biodiversity and biophysical monitoring, habitat protection strategies and all aspects of environmental compliance. We have a strong track record working on large-scale infrastructure projects, including working within oil and gas (upstream and downstream), renewable energy (wind, wave and tidal) and power distribution.
We have worked both onshore and offshore, from site selection and routing feasibility stages, though Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), into the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). We are equally comfortable working as independent technical specialists or within large multidisciplinary teams.
We are specialists in the provision of robust, expert services and strategic advice which we offer to public and private sector clients. The scope of our project experience includes, but is not limited to, renewable energy, oil and gas, infrastructure development, power transmission and distribution, transport, ports, fisheries, agriculture and sustainable tourism.
